Absolutely nice! And if you always speak about "Mac-cloning", what I do not understand because none of your scrots look like a Mac clone. You are certainly very inspired by Mac OS but in many details you are already one step ahead. The only thing I don't is the brushed look in the complete window background. But there are so many other excellent details... Pure uniqueness!
Well, as I've said many times: I will never create a 1:1 100% accurate aqua clone, but, what I do, is clone mac.
The elements are basically the same as mac: connected toolbar buttons, brushed metal background, colors... ...so the overall look is very much mac, even if I'm not directly making a 1:1 clone of every widget, it's still cloning... or copying.
Deviantart is pretty much the only site where one can clone mac this way and everybody thinks it's cool.
Anywhere else and you'll create a flamewar
Thx for the kind words tho man, glad you like it.
And yes, I celebrate easter, I come from a christian home
I know that you do that! But what you do is good things make better and this is more than cloning! In the computer area anyway looks everybody to the other. There is no more reinventing the wheel.
I like the people here much more than elsewhere because they are much nicer.
Yes, that's true, however, if something is too close to something that is patented, not enough to get you in legal trouble, but enough to make a bad name for yourself... and that's pretty much what I'm doing
Yeah the people here are kind, and mostly, older then 14 That is the main problem at opendesktop IMO.
Yeah hopefully I will, my wife has the flu or something atm.
You mean something you haven't already think of?! NO I see only three options though, tweaking the window background so that inlay buttons look OK on it, changing the shape of buttons or changing the inlay effect related part of the Bespin code to get what you want. You're the master and know what to do better than almost anyone else
I just used the same "carving" gradient as for the toolbuttons. looks like them now, which is good, since it looks better, and bad, because now buttons and toolbuttons look too much alike But I just use less roundness on the normal buttons, then it's okey.
I don't know, I really prefer the horizontal gradient on windows with a brushed metal overlay, so I'm not gonna change that for a while I guess.
Oh, and I'm definitely no master, is just, the real masters despise mac cloning so I have to do it myself
I trying to configure my own GUI on Archlinux with WMFS2, your work is a greatly insparation!
Howsoever; im wondering how dou you add the bar at the top of your screen, is this a KDE feature?
Im pretty new to this ^^
greetz!
Sounds good, hoping to see some screenshots from u then
Well, any DE offers to put panels on the top of your screen,
this sure can be done with kde, or any other DE. This is
not plasma however.
